    Phehlukwayo returns as SA bowl

Andile Phehlukwayo Phehlukwayo returns as SA bowl
    Published on March 4, 2017 | Leave a response

South Africa have won the toss and elected to bowl in the ODI series decider against New Zealand in Auckland.

The teams head into the fifth and final match of the series with two wins apiece. New Zealand won the most recent clash in Hamilton by seven wickets.

The only change to the Proteas side for this decider sees all-rounder Andile Phehlukwayo in for Wayne Parnell. At the toss, South African captain AB de Villiers said that his decision to bowl first was based on the fact that teams batting second seem to do well at this ground. De Villiers felt that the wicket at Eden Park would remain good for batting throughout the 100 overs.

New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson, however, feels the pitch may slow up later in the evening. The Kiwis’ spinners may have a key role to play.

New Zealand: 1 Martin Guptill, Dean Brownlie, 3 Kane Williamson (c), 4 Ross Taylor, 5 James Neesham, 6 Luke Ronchi (wk), 7 Colin de Grandhomme, 8 Mitchell Santner, 9 Tim Southee, 10 Jeetan Patel 11 Trent Boult

South Africa: 1 Hashim Amla, 2 Quinton de Kock (wk), 3 Faf du Plessis, 4 AB de Villiers (c), 5 JP Duminy, 6 David Miller, 7 Dwaine Pretorius, 8 Chris Morris, 9 Andile Phehlukwayo, 10 Kagiso Rabada, 11 Imran Tahir
