    Chahal magic floors Proteas

Yuzvendra Chahal Chahal magic floors Proteas

Yuzvendra Chahal’s game-shaping performance of 5-22 in the second ODI at Centurion is our Play of the Day.

India’s slow bowlers have made a big impact in the first two matches of this series. Leg-spinners Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav combined to claim five wickets in the first ODI in Durban. They were even more destructive in the second fixture at Centurion, taking 8-42 between them.

Chahal was the destroyer-in-chief on this occasion, taking a career best 5-22. The 27-year-old’s previous best bowling ODI performance was 3-25 against Zimbabwe in 2016.

    REPORT: India crush woeful Proteas

Both spinners did well to keep the Proteas batsmen quiet. Chahal went for less than three runs per over (in 8.2 overs). He bowled one maiden.

Chahal claimed the key wickets of Quinton de Kock and JP Duminy, and also dismissed Khaya Zondo to end a relatively dangerous partnership of 48 runs. Chahal has dismissed De Kock twice in this series.
