Keaton Jennings produced a fighting 61 as Durham tried to counter Middlesex’s offering of 463 at Lord’s in a rain-hit day in the County Championship on Sunday.He anchored the innings as his teammates came and went without much resistance and Durham ended the second day’s play on 157-4.

On a lively wicket at New Road, Worcester, Johann Myburgh was one of Charlie Morris’s five victims on a rain-hit day. When play started, Morris took the first three wickets, all caught behind by keeper Ben Cox, for 59 runs. Myburgh’s contribution was 11 as Somerset slipped to 250. Cox went on to take five catches and Daryl Mitchell took three at second slip.

But there is hope yet Somerset in a bottom-of-the-table clash, for they had Worcester at 35-2 at the close. Both teams were on 13 bonus points, separated only by alphabetical order.

In Division Two, only 15 overs were played in Cardiff, but in that time Wayne Madsen fell for one in Derbyshire’s total of 47-2 against Glamorgan. Jacques Rudolph and Colin Ingram are in the field.

Richard Levi continues to struggle as an opener for Northamptonshire, managing only seven in a total of 198-6 at the close. Zimbabwean Kyle Jarvis continued his fine run of form, taking 2-26 off 12 overs. Alviro Petersen and Ashwell Prince spent a chilly 50 overs in the field.
