The Pune Supergiants needed all the firepower they could muster to chase down The Royal Challengers’ total of 185. It certainly did not help when the iconic, big-hitting Kevin Pietersen went off injured after facing just one ball in the second over; immediately after Faf du Plessis was dismissed by Kane Richardson. Pietersen pulled a muscle as he set off for a run and then turned back. It took the Supergiants to 12-2, when they really needed a good start.
