    Ingram falls short

    Colin Ingram Ingram falls short
    Published on July 8, 2015 | Leave a response

It was a case of so close, yet so far for Colin Ingram who fell 11 runs short of his maiden century for Glamorgan in the English County Championship.

He had resumed his innings on 70, but in a morning reduced to 45 minutes by rain, he tried to cut England fast bowling hopeful Mark Footitt for his 20th boundary but carved the ball into the hands of deep-backward point. It would have been his 11th first-class hundred.

Craig Meschede, on 34 overnight, passed 50 in the Championship for the fourth time this season. He was dropped when on 60, and ended with 70 off 94 balls. Glamorgan declared at 410-9

Derby responded well, scoring 122-2 by the close, with Wayne Madsen on nine

Elsewhere, rain conspired to reduce the play and kept most of the Saffa contingent quiet.

Dawid Malan, lifted by his career-best 182 for Middlesex, took 1-21 as Nottinghamshire replied with 419. Former Zimbabwe captain Brednson Taylor continued in good form with 77.
